As with all Military Fraternities Folsom AMVETS POST 940 is an autonomous chartered organization. We are classified as a (501-C) and all donations are tax deductible.

Our parent organization was chartered by congress on July 23, 1947; President Harry S. Truman signed Public Law 216, making AMVETS the First World War II organization to be chartered by Congress.

Membership is now open to all Veterans that have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserves, anytime after Sept. 15, 1940. and have proff of eligibility a  form of a DD-214, an honorable discharge certificate or other appropriate document.

All parties are volunteer and each organization is strictly audited for compliance with all city, state, and national laws.

Our only limitations for honoring the dead by serving the living are predicated on this community’s contributions, donations, and participation with us.

We would like to establish a relationship with all merchants that would provide our members with directory.

If you would like to be listed in our merchants circle we are offering business card space for one calendar year for a one time donation of just $100.00.
